Tender For the scope of work covers perform visual and dimensional inspections of runner, buckets, splitters, and needle impact zones. map and quantify erosion depth, especially on bucket edges, splitter, and cutout. the defects /cracks noticed during dpt (die penetrate test) and ultrasonic test (ut) will be provided and following observations have been noticed. erosions, material wear out and porosity noticed at leading edges, splitter tips, and bucket surfaces. cavitations damages, pitting, surface degradation has been observed in all runner buckets around the splitter leading to material loss at the splitter. cracks have been observed at back of the several runner buckets around splitter and its tips areas. due to cumulative wear, pitting and erosions surface roughness observed. compare worn surfaces to ideal profiles, calculate material to rebuild. material of construction (moc) details of pelton runner to be carried out at certified material testing laboratory or at cmti, bangalore. welding electrode suitable for moc of pelton runner shall be selected. the compatibility certificate for selection of welding electrode from welding electrode manufacturer shall be furnished. material build-up via welding includes deposit weld material to rebuild worn bucket edges, cutouts, and splitters. pre-clean the surface thoroughly to remove contaminants and moisture. preheat the component to specified temperature, and weld with controlled parameters to minimize residual stress and avoid cracking. maintain uniform temperature during welding to prevent residual stress formation and porosity. use filler materials compatible with the base metal as per the moc of pelton runner for enhanced fatigue and erosion resilience. use thermocouples to ensure uniform heating and cooling within limits to avoid unwanted microstructural changes. machining, grinding & polishing after welding, perform milling, grinding and polishing to restore hydrodynamic shape and surface finish for optimal flow and efficiency. after rectifications works, the firm shall conduct pelton runner dpt & ut testing and submit report. the work shall be carried out diligently and as per site requirement. in the event of any dispute, the decision of the engineer in charge of the work shall be final and binding. detailed technical specifications and scope of work/supplies are furnished in section-iii of bid document attached in the e-portal.
